I’m passionate about two things: better technology and better community.
Over the last 10 years, my work has focused on these two areas – sometimes separately, but often together. My experience setting up and growing a small digital agency has given me the opportunity to not only work with a wide variety of clients from all kinds of walks of life – business, charity and individuals – but also to become increasingly involved in my local community.
I started the business as a way of engaging with the local community, providing employment and services to local people and organisations. I worked closely with the Southmead Development Trust to produce the digital and print copies of the Southmead Community Plan (a document for the community to own and continually develop, used in consultations with government and businesses) and have an active role in maintaining various community web sites as well as developing a local “what’s on” app.
I’m now a digital consultant as well as the web and app production that Southmedia offers.
Based in Sheffield, I continue to maintain my relationships in Bristol. I am also looking to work with similar organisations or businesses in the South Yorkshire region. I’m passionate about using technology to improve people’s lives and to me both roles can often reflect that desire.
